Airsynergy – an innovator of cleantech products which generate an affordable, renewable, secure and reliable power supply – are delighted to announce the appointment of its new CEO Gerry Butler.
Butler brings with him over 30 years of experience in international management. In his previous roles, he has successfully steered the growth and innovation of teams and businesses, whilst also achieving commercial profit targets.
“I am delighted to welcome Gerry to Airsynergy and its sister company onesynergy. With his exceptional talent in creating business plans that enable companies to maximise their profits, combined with extensive experience in growing, developing and managing successful teams, I have no doubt that he will take our company to the next level and further increase margin growth and global market leadership at both companies,” commented Jim Smyth, Airsynergy Founder. “Gerry has the expertise to be strategic whilst managing a fast-growing business. I look forward to working with him as he carries this momentum forward for our business,” adds Smyth.
At Airsynergy, Butler will be responsible for introducing Airsynergy and onesynergy’s cleantech products into the global market. “Airsynergy’s business is remarkable in that it offers what no other renewable company is offering – renewable, affordable power that can be relied upon, even in areas where wind speeds are low,” comments Butler.
Butler adds: “I have long predicted that the renewable energy market will be one of the largest and fastest-growing markets in the world, and with companies like Airsynergy utilising forward-thinking technology – this is unsurprising. I would like to open up this patented technology to a much wider market, and have been thrilled with this exciting opportunity.”
Prior to joining Airsynergy, Butler was CEO at HMV Ireland, where in his three years he was able to develop business strategies which helped double its annual turnover and increased the gross margin of the business by 12 per cent. Butler did this by transforming the company from a stores only business to an international new technology business. Before HMV Ireland, Butler was the Senior Vice President Europe and Commercial Director UK at Blockbuster, where he commercially ran the UK, Ireland, Italy and Denmark operations. Here he generated over €1 billion turnover across Europe, transforming struggling markets through brand positioning and strong cost control.
Butler has held several other leadership positions such as Senior Vice President and CEO at premium entertainment retailer Xtra-Vision, Managing Director at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Managing Director at PBE lrl Ltd, the sole distributor of Panasonic Office Products in Ireland.
